The Steel Blue Foundation began in 2004 with the aim of financially supporting worthwhile charities and individuals so they can enjoy a better quality of life. Funding started when Steel Blue donated their prize winnings of $17,000 from the 2003 Telstra Australian Small Business of the Year to start the Foundation. In addition, the business committed a percentage of ongoing annual net profits. A registered charity organisation, 100% of funds raised are distributed to worthy community causes, whilst administration is carried out by Steel Blue, Foundation directors and associated business partners. Since inception, the Foundation has conducted a series of annual fundraising events, including dinners, corporate golf days and sporting memorabilia auctions.
Dennis (DK) Lillee, Australian cricket legend, is the Foundation’s patron. “It is an absolute pleasure to be involved with The Steel Blue Foundation knowing every dollar raised will go towards helping those in need”, said Dennis.

In the past, The Steel Blue Foundation has been a key corporate sponsor for the Western Australian Disabled Sports Association (WADSA). The funds provided to WADSA enabled the Association to work within regional communities to provide much needed sporting programs that encourage participation by both disabled and abled body individuals. The program (with the assistance of state and local government bodies) is fast becoming a leading light across the nation. The Steel Blue Foundation looks forward to continuing work with the Association to ensure similar programs can be integrated into further regional communities.
