Steel Blue™ High Impact Polymer Alloy (Hi-PA™) - The ultimate in advanced safety, comfort and foot-health technologies.

The Steel Blue Hi-PA range is completely non-metallic! No steel toe-cap or steel eyelets to set off metal security detectors or cause sparks around flammable or explosive materials.

In addition to Steel Blue's famous Trisole™ Comfort Technology (TCT™) cushioning soling system, the Hi-PA range also features OrthoLite® sports shoe footbeds to cradle and support the whole foot and Outlast® temperature-regulating technology inside to help keep your feet comfortable, in hot or cold weather. The Hi-PA range has been independently assessed by the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) and awarded their Seal of Acceptance.

Hi-PA non-metallic safety toe-caps are independently certified to Australian/New Zealand, European and American safety footwear standards and offer the following benefits:

Lighter than steel safety toe-caps

Will not activate security metal detectors

Will not conduct electricity

Can be X-rayed

Will not rust

Insulates the toes from heat and cold better than steel

Resist acid, alkali and fuel oil (impact tested after immersion for 24 hours in sulphuric acid, sodium hydroxide solution and trimethylpentane (Isooctane))

All Hi-PA styles come with the ‘Steel Blue Difference’ features and comply with Australian AS/NZS 2210.3:2000, European EN ISO 20345 and USA ASTM F2413 and safety footwear standards

Hi-PA EH Series

NON-CONDUCTIVE FOOTWEAR - EH SERIES

In compliance with ASTM F2413-05 "Electric shock resistant footwear"

Non-conductive footwear is intended to reduce the hazards due to accidental contact with live electrical circuits, electrically energized conductors, or parts of apparatus (600 volts AC or less). Tested at 14,000 volts at 60Hz for one minute with no current flow or leakage current in excess of 3.0 mA under dry conditions.

This footwear is not suitable where anti-static properties are needed.

NB: EH Series footwear is intended for use as secondary protective personal equipment, to be used in conjunction with primary protective equipment, in environments where there is a need to reduce the risk of electric shock due to accidental contact with live electric wires.

Fit For Purpose – Choosing the Right Toe Cap for the Job!
Whilst non-metallic safety toe caps offer a range of benefits, they are not suitable for all work environments so it is important that you choose safety footwear carefully.
Non metal composite materials such as that used in Hi-PA toe caps do not have the same cut and penetration resistance as steel safety toe caps and should not be used around powered cutting or grinding devices or nail guns. There are special safety footwear standards for chainsaw boots and speciality footwear is recommended for this purpose.
